Ptarmigan Hunting with Ingvar Rødsjø

Nobody has won more prices and campions in Norway than Ingvar Rødsjø. He has has been hunting ptarmigan since he was 14 years old. He bought his first shotgun with his confirmation money and few have more experience in the grouse mountains than he. In this film, we join Ingvar on a grouse hunt in the winter, in the autumn mountains in Sweden and after the elusive October grouse that has turned almost completely white. The film is packed with exciting and varied hunting situations and the running time is a full 96 minutes.

Ingvar is also one of Norway's most successful dog handlers and he has won a number of Norwegian Champion titles, both individually and on a team. Over the years, Ingvar has brought out some of the best English setters in the country and one wonders how he manages to achieve such success time after time. In this film, Ingvar pours out his knowledge of dogs and both tells and shows us that dog training doesn't really have to be that difficult.

We get to meet the legendary English setter Berkjestølens Hi-Treff, who will go down in history as the most winning dog ever. With Hi-Treff, grouse hunting is easy and he gives his handler one shooting chance after another. Ingvar also has the dogs Hi-Trøkk and Hi-Troll and in this film we follow the game ring Hi-Trøkk in particular. From being a hot young dog in the winter we follow "Trøkk" throughout the year and at the October hunt we experience a bird dog as it is most likely supposed to be. A complete pointing dog.
